Counselling and Psychotherapy
Counselling and Psychotherapy sessions
Life can be overwhelming. Sometimes you need someone who will listen without judgement, help you make sense of what you're feeling, and support you in finding a way forward.
Our experienced counsellors and psychotherapists provide a safe, confidential space where you can be yourself and work through whatever you're facing.
Who is counselling and psychotherapy for?
Our practitioners can support you with a wide range of concerns, including:
Anxiety and stress - feeling constantly worried, overwhelmed or on edge
Depression - persistent low mood, loss of interest in things you once enjoyed, or feelings of hopelessness
Relationship difficulties - communication problems, trust issues, or navigating major life changes as a couple
Grief and bereavement - processing the loss of someone close to you
Trauma - recovering from difficult or distressing experiences
Life transitions - coping with change, whether that's career shifts, becoming a parent, retirement or other major adjustments
Low self-esteem and confidence - struggling with self-worth or feeling stuck
Work-related stress - burnout, workplace conflicts or career uncertainty
Family issues - navigating complex family dynamics or caring responsibilities
You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Sometimes it's simply about gaining clarity, understanding yourself better, or having support during a challenging period.

More about Counselling and Psychotherapy:
Counselling and psychotherapy are umbrella terms that cover a range of talking therapies. Our highly trained practitioners will work with you over a short or long period of time to help you bring about effective change and enhance your wellbeing.
Understanding the difference:
Counselling helps you identify problems and crises, encouraging you to take positive steps to resolve these issues. It's often the best course of therapeutic treatment if you already have some understanding of your wellbeing and are able to work towards resolving problems. Counselling is typically a short-term process that encourages behavioural change and gives you practical strategies for moving forward.
Psychotherapy helps with psychological problems that have built up over a long period of time. It will help you understand your feelings, thoughts and actions more clearly by exploring emotional issues and the background to your problems and difficulties. Psychotherapy is generally a longer-term process that goes deeper into the roots of what you're experiencing.
Both approaches work equally well for everyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexuality, financial circumstances or educational background. If you're going through a difficult time or have emotional problems you can't solve on your own, our therapists can help.
What to expect:
Counselling and psychotherapy provide you with the opportunity to discuss your problems in confidence and in a safe place. You can talk about the "real you" and gain a deeper understanding about yourself. Establishing a good relationship with your therapist is fundamental for developing trust, confidence and growth. With these in place, you can flourish.
Your practitioner will listen without judgement, help you explore your thoughts and feelings, and work collaboratively with you to find ways forward that feel right for you. Some people attend for a few sessions to work through a specific issue, whilst others find longer-term support more helpful.
Individual or couples therapy?
We offer both individual sessions (for personal issues) and couples therapy (for relationship difficulties). Couples counselling can help you improve communication, navigate conflict, rebuild trust or simply strengthen your relationship during challenging times.
