Sometimes in life, you can feel stuck, confused or overwhelmed. It can be hard to make sense of difficult situations or feelings, and sometimes you need to share and explore what's going on - to be seen and to be heard.

Karen offers therapeutic counselling to support you in understanding and integrating difficult and complex experiences, thoughts and feelings which may be holding you back.

Sessions and fees:

  • Individual counselling: £50 per 50-minute session

  • Concessions: A limited number of short-term concessional places are available - please contact Karen for details

  • Available: Days, early evenings, and limited weekend availability

Karen offers both in-person sessions and online therapy.

Karen's approach:

Karen's core training is in Transactional Analysis, and she is committed to undertaking a continuous programme of counselling and psychotherapy training and development to support her ongoing skills, knowledge and experience. She will support you in an attentive and respectful way whilst you make your own discoveries. This may involve exploring past events and decisions and relating them to what is going on for you now in order to achieve the changes you seek.

Karen's approach allows you to gain greater awareness of yourself and others, and to safely access feelings that may seem out of reach or overwhelming. She creates a space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, helping you develop understanding and find your way forward.

Karen can help you with:

  • Anger and feelings which come out in unhelpful ways

  • Attachment issues

  • Anxiety, fear and panic attacks

  • Carer responsibilities, loss and bereavement

  • Eating disorders

  • Emotional abuse and mild trauma

  • Loneliness, isolation and depression

  • Low self-confidence and self-esteem

Professional experience and training:

Karen has studied with the National Centre for Eating Disorders and achieved the Practitioner Skills For Eating Disorders Diploma, approved by the British Psychological Society. She also holds Level 2 (practitioner) certification in Applied Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), which is often referred to as psychological acupressure or a modern meridian therapy, to bring about emotional healing and relieve many physical symptoms.

Professional standards and qualifications:

In accordance with the UKATA code of ethics, Karen receives regular supervision to ensure she provides the best possible service to you. She holds a UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA) Diploma in Transactional Analysis and is a registered member of the UKATA and the National Counselling Society.
