More about Sit Fit:

Seated exercise can build strength and increase flexibility, working your whole body without the need to bear your own weight. This makes it particularly valuable if you're dealing with foot, ankle, knee or hip problems, or if balance is a concern.

The chair provides a stable base from which to exercise and can alleviate pressure on achy knees or wobbly ankles.

When you're seated, you often have to isolate and focus more on form, which means you can target specific muscles more deeply. Every exercise can be adapted to suit your needs, whether you prefer to remain seated throughout or use the chair for support whilst standing for certain movements. We can also incorporate exercise equipment if it enhances your workout.

What you'll experience:

Research shows that seated exercise programmes improve both upper body strength, such as grip and arm strength, and lower body function. You'll work on mobility, flexibility, strength and posture through carefully chosen movements. Even whilst seated, these exercises can get your heart pumping through movements like marching, rowing in place or arm stretches, improving your cardiovascular health.

Each session concludes with a 10-minute mindfulness practice, giving your body time to rest and integrate the work you've done. This gentle wind-down helps you leave feeling both energised and calm.

When you practise seated exercises regularly, you reduce the risk of falls whilst increasing blood flow and keeping your joints active. This class is designed to help you maintain your independence, strength and confidence - no matter where you're starting from.
