More about Sewing Bee:

This isn't a formal class with set projects or strict lesson plans. Instead, it's a relaxed, sociable gathering where you can work on whatever sewing project currently has your attention - whether that's altering a favourite garment, creating something entirely new, tackling a mending pile, or experimenting with techniques you've been curious about. Bring your own equipment and materials, settle in, and enjoy the company of fellow sewers who understand the satisfaction of a perfectly placed stitch.

The beauty of our Sewing Bee is in its flexibility and community spirit. You might arrive with a clear plan and leave with a finished cushion cover, or you might spend the session unpicking something that didn't quite work out whilst chatting about fabric choices with the person next to you. There's no pressure, no deadlines and no judgment - everyone's simply there to sew and socialise.

What to expect:

Sewers of all abilities are genuinely welcome here. Whether you're a confident dressmaker or you're still getting to grips with threading a needle, you'll find your place in the group. While this isn't a teacher-led class, there's often assistance available if you get stuck or want a second opinion on how to approach something tricky. The collective knowledge in the room is considerable, and people are generous with their tips, techniques and encouragement.

This is the perfect setting to discover new projects, learn skills from more experienced sewers, swap pattern recommendations, and make friends who get excited about finding the perfect button. Some of our members have been coming for years, while others are relatively new - but everyone shares that common thread (excuse the pun) of loving to create with fabric.

Bring your sewing machine if you have one, or work by hand. Bring your current project, your questions and your enthusiasm. We'll provide the welcoming atmosphere and the company of people who truly understand why you've got three unfinished projects on the go at once.

Not sure if this class is for you? Send us a message and we’ll get back to you.
