Reiki

Monday - Saturday

Sometimes healing doesn't require manipulation or pressure - it requires gentle, focused energy and the space for your body to restore its natural balance.

Reiki is a non-invasive energy healing technique that works to support your body's innate ability to heal itself, both physically and emotionally.

More about Reiki:

Reiki is an energy healing technique developed in Japan by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. The word itself combines "rei" (meaning universal) and "ki" (meaning life force energy) - the vital energy that flows through all living things. Reiki practitioners believe that this life force energy flows through the body along pathways called meridians, which can become blocked or unbalanced due to stress, injury or illness.

During a Reiki session, your practitioner works to promote a healthy flow of energy in and around your body, helping to clear blockages and release stagnant energy. This gentle process can support your physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing, encouraging your body to return to a state of natural balance and harmony. The treatment can be performed with hands resting lightly on your body or hovering just above it, and you remain fully clothed throughout.

What you might experience:

You might feel a tingling sensation, deep relaxation, warmth or coolness throughout your body during treatment. Or you might not feel anything at all - practitioners say this doesn't mean the treatment isn't working. Research from a large-scale study suggests that a single session of Reiki improves multiple variables related to physical and psychological health.

Reiki activates the parasympathetic nervous system to heal body and mind, making it a safe and gentle complementary therapy. Studies indicate that Reiki therapy may help reduce pain, anxiety and depression, whilst improving sleep quality, particularly for people with cancer and other chronic conditions. Reiki can also aid in reducing the physical manifestations of stress, such as muscle tension, headaches and insomnia.

How Reiki can help:

Reiki may bring relief from:

  • Stress, tension and anxiety

  • Digestive disorders

  • Sleep disturbances

  • Grief and fear

  • Chronic pain and discomfort

The practice triggers the release of endorphins - your body's natural "feel good" chemicals - while helping to inhibit stress hormones by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system. This creates a profound sense of relaxation and calm, supporting your body's innate healing processes and helping to restore balance on all levels.

It's important to understand that Reiki is a complementary therapy, not a medical treatment. Reiki does not cure any health condition - instead, it should be regarded as a useful complement to conventional practices, especially for chronic conditions where additional support can be valuable. Only your body can truly heal itself - Reiki simply facilitates and enhances that natural healing capacity.
