At its heart, pilates is about controlled, mindful movement. In our 50-minute session, you'll work with fundamental principles like breathing, concentration, balance and body awareness, all whilst performing exercises that strengthen your entire body.

Instructor: Lynne Ratcliffe
Lynne is a fully qualified fitness instructor with certificates in Group Exercise to Music, Indoor Cycling, Gym Ball, Fitness Pilates and Pilates. She attends regular CPD sessions to keep up to date with the latest fitness developments and exercises.

This class welcomes absolutely everyone. Whether you're in your twenties or your seventies, brand new to exercise or returning after a break, pilates meets you where you are. Every exercise can be adjusted to suit your current fitness level, and if you're working with joint issues or muscular limitations, our instructors will guide you through modifications that keep you safe while still giving you an effective workout. If you have any health concerns, we'd recommend chatting with your GP before starting, but once you're here, you'll be encouraged to work at your own pace and build your strength, endurance and flexibility gradually.
What you'll notice:
Pilates puts particular focus on strengthening your back and core - the powerhouse of your body that supports virtually every movement you make. As these muscles develop, many people find their posture improves, movement becomes easier, and niggly joint discomfort starts to ease. Your body tends to feel more toned, more capable and more comfortable in itself.
