Art workshops
Saturday at 10:30am
There's something wonderfully freeing about making art in the company of others who simply enjoy the process. Our art workshops, led by Richard Larkin, give you the space to explore your creativity, learn new techniques and connect with fellow artists over a shared love of making.

More about our art workshops:
Acrylic Art
Our Saturday morning sessions are designed as 'paint-alongs' where Richard demonstrates blending techniques and mark making while you follow along at your own pace. We use Chroma and Atelier Interactive acrylics, which are particularly forgiving for learners because they don't form a skin as quickly as standard acrylics. This gives you more time to blend, adjust and experiment without the pressure of working against the clock.
The focus is predominantly on landscape painting, though the class is entirely participant-led. You're encouraged to suggest subject matter that inspires you, whether that's coastal scenes, woodland paths or anything else that captures your imagination. Some people describe these sessions as "getting to know what your brush can do" or simply "playing with paint" - and that playful exploration is exactly the spirit we encourage.
These workshops welcome everyone, from complete beginners picking up a brush for the first time to improvers developing their skills. We also have artists who've been attending for years and keep coming back for the joy of the practice and the community. There's no pressure to create a masterpiece - this is about enjoying the process and discovering what happens when you let yourself be creative.
What to expect:
Our workshops are calm, welcoming spaces where people of all ages and abilities feel comfortable trying something new or developing existing talents. Some materials are included in the cost of the class, so you can turn up and start creating without worrying about what to bring. Whether you're looking for a peaceful Saturday morning activity, want to meet like-minded people, or simply fancy exploring your artistic side, these sessions offer a supportive environment to do exactly that.
Not sure if this class is for you? Send us a message and we’ll get back to you.
